Volvo Trucks, Fontaine Introduces New Lighter System of Fifth Wheel

The Volvo Co. has recently made available a new fifth wheel option that will be directly installed into the frame of its trailer trucks, rather than onto it. The design is a lighter and smaller design which will help to improve the quality of the drive when it weighs around 100 pounds which is less than the current fifth wheels standard duty wheels as well as help improve the ride. The Volvo Truck Co. worked with the Fontaine Fifth Wheel on this new system where it developed a lower new assembly which will help support both the frame of the truck as well as the fifth wheel.
