    GM Brands Witness Positive Growth for Nine Consecutive Months

    Reinforced by some of their new models like the Silverado HD, General Motors have seen an increase in 11 per cent for March. Although the majority of these sales figure, almost 27 per cent, comprised of fleet sales, the company has noted that this will be the ninth consecutive month, that the sales to fleet are less than 30 per cent of their total sales. This has been viewed by many to be a key indicator that the desirability of vehicles to customers and purchase incentives has declined on a basis of per unit, monthly compared to that of February. The 2011 first quarter, total sales showed an increase of 26 per cent, selling 592,545 units, while the retail sales showed an increase of 38 per cent.     Ford's SVT Raptor pick up truck of its F-150 series has witnessed an increase in its model sales this year. January was reportedly the best month for the vehicle, according to the manager of consumer marketing of Ford F-150, Mark Lapine, during its new 2011 version Super Crew cab's press introduction in Michigan. According to Marc Lapine, the sold more than 900 Raptor model pick up trucks in January alone. By the month of February was over, the company had added more sales of 740 Raptor pick up trucks to its list. From this years model year versions of both the Super Cab and Super Crew trucks, Ford sold around 1,072 models of the Raptor.
